If you  were to look at Lyveden new bield from the air,you  would see a tudor era labyrinth comprising of 10 concentric circles,traces of which were almost obliterated by ploughing.
The labyrinth was probably made when the 400 raspberry and rose bushes were planted by Sir Thomas Tresham,a Roman catholic who paid fines for his faith from henry viii  to James I times(he died in 1605),he never finished the house and garden.
His  son Francis was involved in the gunpower plot and  is thought to have written the letter that betrayed the gunpower plot.
